Full Job Description
Tests samples of milled rubber compounds and finished rubber goods, using testing devices, and compares gauge readings against prepared standards, such as charts, graphs, and tables, to verify adherence to specifications: Collects samples of rubber from MIXING-MACHINE OPERATOR (any industry) at prescribed intervals. Mixes and blends sample stock on laboratory warmer mill to obtain desired consistency and tests sample for plasticity, using plastometer. Cures uncured rubber samples in heated mold at specified temperature for designated time and tests its hardness, using durometer. Determines density of cured and uncured stock by weighing samples on scale and testing sample in densimeter. Records test results for use by control laboratory.
